Email Message During Residency Interviews

I’m cleaning out my email box and I found this exchange about our interview at the University of Virginia. I sent this first email to the two wonderful ladies I work with. It made me laugh-- and now that we'll be moving to Charlottesville, I thought I'd post it.

Hello my favorite snow bunnies!

I miss you both! Sitting in my king size bed checking my messages. I tried to email from my phone yesterday but it didn't go through. So, yes, I'm alive and well!

Virginia is very pretty, purple mountains tucked into the corners of cities and the people have funny accents! They have Starbucks and Chipolte so that's a plus! Guess what? There are 40 wineries in this county alone!

Thought you guys would think the local newspaper's headline: "War re-enactment turned uncivil." The first paragraph says, "This time both sides won. The Union and Confederate calvary commanders who engaged in a horseback scuffle as they re-enacted the Battle of Standardsville were found not guilty...."

How funny is that? The only thing people know about Nebraska here is that it's flat and that people like football.

In Charlottesville, in the spring the residents tailgate at polo games. Yep, I said polo, that's the dude on the horse hitting a ball with a mallet...! Cracked me up!

Tell me about the weather!

Love yous!

Lisa

I am so glad you are safe! I was thinking of you but figured no news is good news. The weather is crazy. I am working from home right now. I tried to make it to work but turned around and went back home. Our boss sent us an e-mail and said he would prefer that we work from home. The wind could get as high as 45-50 mph with the wind chill at 30-40 below.

Glad you are enjoying your trip. However, I hope you really hate it there! The place sounds a little odd based on the newspaper headline. (smile) Did Erik have his first interview? I hope he hates it too! Well have fun on your ski trip and hurry and get back home cause we miss you!

Smooches...

Hello my peeps!! Yes, I'm at work. My husband drove me here and we passed many, many cars off the road. Some where in positions that were quite crazy!!!

And there is no way that you and Erik would be able to survive in Charlottesville with no football!! Hello!! Polo? Unless the dudes are naked on the horses hitting a ball with a mallet . . . no way.

Hugs . . .
